DaniLeigh’s Brother’s Lawsuit Against DaBaby Dismissed

A Los Angeles judge has officially dismissed Brandon Bills’ assault and battery lawsuit against rapper DaBaby and his label, Billion Dollar Baby Entertainment. The lawsuit stemmed from a high-profile 2022 physical altercation at a California bowling alley that was widely shared across social media.

Judge Huey P. Cotton ruled that Bills—brother of singer DaniLeigh—failed to serve DaBaby within the court-mandated time frame. Despite having over three years to take action, Bills’ legal team never successfully served the rapper, even after the court granted permission to do so by publication in April 2024. That inaction ultimately led to the case being tossed.

Bills initially filed the lawsuit shortly after the confrontation, which drew national attention due to video footage showing DaBaby and his entourage physically attacking him at the venue. Bills’ lawyers argued that DaBaby’s fame and travel schedule made him difficult to reach. But the judge called that explanation insufficient and sided with DaBaby’s legal team, who had described the delay as “appalling.”

The court dismissed the case with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled. The ruling brings a definitive end to the legal drama, shielding DaBaby from civil consequences tied to the altercation.

The fight had reignited tensions between DaBaby and DaniLeigh’s family, with Bills framing the altercation as part of a broader personal feud. But with the dismissal, any legal avenue to hold DaBaby accountable in court is now closed.
