Damon Wayans Opens Up About Falling in Love with a Woman Who Dated His Nephew

Damon Wayans recently shared an amusing and candid story about his love life with Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay. He revealed he met a woman in 2001, shortly after his divorce from Lisa Thorner. He fell in love at first sight, but later discovered that she had previously dated his nephew. Damon jokingly chalked it up to the slim dating pool in California.

Before getting serious, Damon had a conversation with his nephew about the situation. He recalls, “I’m like, you know ‘What’s up?’ and he’s like, ‘That’s you.’ And I’m like, ‘Okay, pass the Courvoisier, let’s go!’” Despite the awkward connection, Damon proceeded with the relationship and fell in love, laughing off any potential family tensions.

However, the situation did lead to some awkward family dynamics, especially during group gatherings. “It’s a little awkward at best,” he admitted, hinting that family get-togethers are now filled with a little more tension.
