Chris Brown was arrested in Manchester early Thursday morning (May 15), just weeks before the UK leg of his upcoming “Breezy Bowl” European tour. According to an exclusive report by The Sun, police took the R&B star into custody around 2 a.m. at The Lowry Hotel, shortly after his private jet landed in the city.

The arrest is connected to a violent incident that allegedly took place in February 2023 at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, Central London. Detectives suspect Brown assaulted music producer Abe Diaw by striking him with a bottle, then punching and kicking him while he was on the ground. The reported attack resulted in serious injuries.

Diaw has since filed a $16 million civil lawsuit in the U.S. against Brown, claiming grievous bodily harm. His attorney, Ryan J. Daneshrad, told TMZ, “We can confirm that Chris Brown was involved in an incident with our client, and the injuries sustained are serious. We are pursuing all legal remedies to hold him accountable.”

As of now, Brown and his team have not made any public statements regarding the arrest or the allegations.

The situation could have significant implications for Brown’s scheduled performances in Europe. It remains to be seen whether this legal development will impact the tour.
