Cardi B just scored a major courtroom victory. The Bronx superstar has been found not liable in a civil case accusing her of assault and battery — meaning she won’t have to pay a dime in damages. Now, she’s reportedly planning to hit back with a countersuit.

The case was brought by Emani Ellis, a former security guard who accused Cardi of attacking her during a 2018 incident at a Beverly Hills obstetrician’s office while the rapper was pregnant with her first child. Ellis sued for $24 million, claiming Cardi cut her face with a long fingernail, spat on her, and used racial slurs.

Cardi, however, told the jury the altercation was only verbal and insisted she never touched Ellis. According to Cardi, Ellis had been recording her with a phone and trying to publicize her doctor’s visit, which sparked the confrontation.

Key witnesses backed Cardi’s side: her doctor and the receptionist testified that they never saw the rapper hit Ellis. The jury agreed, delivering a unanimous verdict in Cardi’s favor.

Throughout the trial, Cardi showed up to court in high-fashion fits, switching up hairstyles and jewelry — turning the legal battle into a style moment as well.

Calling the lawsuit a “cash grab,” Cardi is now looking to flip the script with a countersuit, ensuring the courtroom drama might not be over just yet.
