“Betty Idol” Busted! Former Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Star Arrested IN $198K Real Estate Scam

Former Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star Salomes Jackson, better known to fans as “Betty Idol,” is facing serious legal trouble after Florida authorities say she was involved in a nearly $200,000 real estate scam.

Jackson was arrested Thursday following an 11-month investigation by detectives with the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.

According to investigators, Jackson allegedly helped orchestrate a scheme that resulted in an Orange City couple losing approximately $198,000.

Authorities say the victims, who own a local mobile home park, believed they were purchasing a vacant parcel of land next to their property.

The couple reportedly wired more than $198,000 into what they believed was a legitimate escrow account.

But after the couple requested a routine property survey, the alleged bogus real estate representatives suddenly stopped communicating with them.

The victims then contacted the actual owners of the property — and that’s when they reportedly discovered the land was never for sale.

Investigators launched a financial crimes investigation and allegedly traced the money through a complicated network involving shell companies, fraudulent identification documents and bank accounts across New York, New Jersey and Florida.

Detectives eventually identified Jackson through surveillance footage and facial-recognition technology.

According to authorities, surveillance video captured Jackson allegedly depositing some of the stolen money at an ATM in New York.

Investigators say Jackson personally received more than $178,000 of the allegedly stolen funds.

Authorities also reportedly linked some of the money to luxury purchases at retailers including Gucci and René Caovilla.

Now the former reality TV personality is facing multiple felony charges connected to the investigation.

Jackson is reportedly charged with money laundering, grand theft, organized scheme to defraud and fraudulent use of personal identification, among other allegations.

The case remains ongoing, and the allegations against Jackson have not been proven in court.

Jackson became known to reality TV viewers through Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, where she appeared as “Betty Idol.”

Now, nearly a decade after making headlines in the reality TV world, her name is back in the headlines for a completely different reason.
