Peacock Greenlights Three-Part Wendy Williams Docuseries Celebrating Her Legendary Daytime Television Run

Wendy Williams’ undeniable impact on daytime television is officially getting a new spotlight.

Peacock has greenlit a three-part docuseries tentatively titled Clap If You Care: The Wendy Williams Show, set to premiere in 2027. The documentary will celebrate Williams and revisit the television phenomenon she created during her legendary run in daytime.

For more than a decade, The Wendy Williams Show became a major part of pop culture, with Williams delivering celebrity news, unforgettable interviews and, of course, her signature “Hot Topics.” Her unfiltered personality and willingness to say what others wouldn’t helped create a lane that was uniquely hers.

Suzanne Bass, a longtime executive producer on The Wendy Williams Show who frequently appeared on camera reacting to Wendy’s commentary, will executive produce the documentary and provide her firsthand perspective on the show’s place in pop culture.

The three-part project will also feature 20 former staff members sharing behind-the-scenes stories about working alongside Williams and helping bring the daytime series to life.

The announcement comes as interest surrounding Williams remains incredibly high years after her departure from television. While much of the recent conversation has focused on her personal life and circumstances away from the spotlight, Clap If You Care appears positioned to bring the attention back to what made Wendy a household name in the first place: her work.

From radio to daytime television, Williams created a voice, format and connection with viewers that continues to influence entertainment commentary today.
