Tourists and New Yorkers got way more excitement than expected Tuesday evening after a vehicle suddenly burst into flames and exploded near the famous Charging Bull statue in Lower Manhattan.

Wild video from the scene showed thick black smoke taking over the sky as the vehicle β€” which reportedly appeared connected to the MTA β€” sat completely engulfed in flames near Broadway and Stone Street in the middle of the Financial District.

People nearby immediately started gathering around the chaos, with dozens pulling out their phones to capture the shocking scene as flames intensified before firefighters rushed in.

Witnesses described hearing loud popping sounds moments before smoke began pouring through the busy tourist area, creating a scene straight out of an action movie.

According to reports, FDNY crews responded around 5:42 PM and battled the blaze for more than an hour before finally bringing the fire under control shortly before 7 PM.

The dramatic explosion caused panic and traffic disruptions near one of New York City’s most visited landmarks as smoke spread throughout the Wall Street area.

Thankfully, officials say no injuries have been reported so far.
