Masked Gunmen Pull Off Wild $1.8 Million Armored Truck Heist in Philadelphia 😳💰
Police in Philadelphia are investigating after two armed men allegedly pulled off a massive $1.8 million robbery from an armored truck Tuesday morning.
The robbery happened around 9:45 a.m. in the Tacony section of the city near the 7200 block of Torresdale Avenue.
According to investigators, two masked men carrying assault rifles targeted a Brinks truck while it was stopped near the Torresdale bus loop servicing Budget Financial Center.
Police say the suspects fled the scene in a blue getaway car after taking the cash.
A short time later, authorities located the vehicle, described as a blue Acura SUV, near Front Street and Fairmount Avenue in the Northern Liberties area.
Witnesses at the scene said they saw arguing before the suspects sped off, even driving on the sidewalk during the escape.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported during the robbery.
At this time, no arrests have been made, and investigators are continuing to review surveillance footage and speak with witnesses.
Sources say the Federal Bureau of Investigation is now leading the investigation.
