Laila Ali Checks Claressa Shields Over $15M Fight Call-Out: ‘Nobody Calls Shots on Me!’
Laila Ali is stepping into the conversation — but not into the ring.
After Claressa Shields publicly challenged the retired boxing legend to a $15 million showdown, Laila didn’t hold back with her response. Taking to social media, the undefeated champ and daughter of Muhammad Ali shut it all the way down.
“Nobody calls shots on me,” Laila said. “I do things when, how, and where I like to do them!”
Shields, a two-time Olympic gold medalist and current face of women’s boxing, has been vocal for years about wanting to fight Ali, even claiming she’d be willing to put up millions for the right payday. Recently, she reignited the challenge by suggesting a $15 million purse could finally make it happen.
But Laila Ali isn’t budging — and she made it clear that no amount of hype or headline pressure will make her jump just because someone said so.
While fans would love to see the generational clash between two of boxing’s greatest women, it’s clear Laila’s not moved by internet call-outs or dollar signs. If the fight ever happens, it’ll be on her terms.
