Cincinnati Honors Katt Williams with Street Named After Him in Hometown of Avondale

In a heartfelt tribute to one of its most celebrated natives, Cincinnati has honored comedian Katt Williams by naming a street after him in the Avondale neighborhood, where he began his journey in comedy. The newly designated “Katt Williams Way” recognizes his significant contributions to entertainment and his deep-rooted connection to the community.
Born Micah Williams on September 2, 1971, in Cincinnati, Katt Williams spent his formative years in Dayton, Ohio. He launched his stand-up career performing in local venues around Avondale, eventually rising to national prominence with roles in films like Friday After Next and his acclaimed HBO specials, including The Pimp Chronicles, Pt. 1. Williams has often credited his Ohio upbringing for shaping his comedic voice and worldview.
This street naming follows the city’s earlier recognition of Williams with the proclamation of April 27 as “Katt Williams Day,” announced by Vice Mayor Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney during his 2024 “Dark Matter Tour” stop at the Heritage Bank Center. The honor celebrates his enduring ties to Cincinnati and his impact on the comedy scene.
“Katt Williams Way” joins other Cincinnati streets named after notable figures, such as Bootsy Collins Way and Otis Williams Place, highlighting the city’s commitment to honoring its cultural icons.
For fans and residents alike, the new street serves as a lasting tribute to Katt Williams’ legacy and his roots in the Avondale community.
