Lil Durk’s Legal Team Files New Motion for Immediate Release Amid Ongoing Federal Case

Lil Durk’s attorneys have filed a new motion seeking his immediate release from jail, challenging the validity of the evidence presented against him in his ongoing federal case. The rapper, currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles, faces charges related to an alleged murder-for-hire plot.
In the motion, Durk’s legal team argues that prosecutors presented false or misleading information to the grand jury, including the use of edited social media content and misinterpreted song lyrics. They contend that such evidence was taken out of context and should not have been used to support the indictment.
Previously, in December 2024, Durk’s attorneys proposed a $3 million bond package, which included $2.3 million in real estate equity and $1 million from his record label. However, the judge denied this offer, citing concerns over Durk being a flight risk and potential threats to the community.
Durk’s trial, initially scheduled for January 2025, has been postponed to October 14, 2025, to allow both sides additional time to prepare. As the case progresses, his legal team continues to challenge the prosecution’s evidence and seeks to secure his release pending trial.
