50 Cent Drops $124M to Turn Shreveport Into the Next Entertainment Powerhouse

50 Cent is putting serious money behind his vision for Shreveport, Louisiana. The rap icon and media mogul’s G-Unit Film & Television company is planning to invest $124 million into revitalizing multiple entertainment venues across the city — a move that could reshape the region’s creative economy.

On Monday (Jan. 12), 50 Cent and the Louisiana Economic Development office officially announced the next phase of his long-term redevelopment plan. The massive investment includes renovations to the former Stageworks facility for live events and production use, a major upgrade to the Millennium Studios campus (now known as G-Unit Studios), and the construction of a dome-style immersive entertainment venue alongside a new green space park.

“This project is the realization of the long-term commitment I have made to the City of Shreveport and the State of Louisiana,” 50 Cent said in a statement. “By reinvesting in downtown Shreveport and upgrading existing assets to create state-of-the-art entertainment and production facilities, we are creating jobs, inspiring hope, attracting new productions, and giving the entire entertainment industry a reason to build their futures right here.”

He added, “My goal is to turn Northwest Louisiana into the premier destination for film, music, and live entertainment on a national scale. All Roads Lead to Shreveport.”

In addition to G-Unit’s investment, the state of Louisiana plans to contribute up to $50 million in performance-based funding to support infrastructure and modernization improvements across the three project sites.

50 Cent also celebrated the news on Instagram, writing, “I told you all roads lead to Shreveport, now let’s work!” alongside a screenshot of an article detailing the announcement.

The expansion builds on his existing presence in the city. In December 2023, 50 Cent secured a 30-year lease with Shreveport for Millennium Studios, rebranding it as G-Unit Studios with plans to make it a premier filming destination. Then, in the summer of 2024, he hosted the star-studded Humor & Harmony Weekend, further spotlighting Shreveport as a rising entertainment hub.

With nine figures on the table and state backing behind it, 50 Cent’s Shreveport takeover is officially in motion.
