Spider-Man: Brand New Day Swings Past $2 Billion Worldwide, Making Box Office History
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is officially in rare box-office territory.
The Tom Holland-led blockbuster has crossed an astonishing $2 billion at the worldwide box office after just three weekends in theaters, becoming only the eighth film in history to reach the milestone. The movie has earned approximately $2.022 billion globally, including $785.8 million in North America and more than $1.2 billion internationally.
Even more impressive, Brand New Day is now the second-fastest movie in history to reach $2 billion, trailing only Marvel Studiosâ Avengers: Endgame.
The milestone continues what has been a record-breaking theatrical run for Spider-Man.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the latest chapter once again stars Holland as Peter Parker and brings the web-slinging superhero back for another major adventure. The film opened in theaters on July 31 and quickly established itself as one of the biggest theatrical events of 2026.
During its opening weekend, Brand New Day generated a record-breaking $360 million domestically, surpassing Avengers: Endgame for the biggest domestic opening weekend in box-office history. The film then crossed $1 billion globally in only six days before doubling that total less than three weeks into its theatrical run.

The success also gives Sony Pictures another major milestone. Brand New Day has now surpassed 2021âs Spider-Man: No Way Home, which finished its theatrical run with approximately $1.92 billion worldwide, making the new installment Sony’s highest-grossing film ever.
And audiences clearly aren’t finished showing up.
During its third weekend, the film remained No. 1 at the North American box office, adding another $70 million domestically. Its continued dominance comes as the overall 2026 summer box office enjoys one of its strongest performances in years.

For Holland, the massive response further solidifies his version of Peter Parker as one of the defining characters of the modern superhero era. What began with his introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe has grown into a Spider-Man franchise capable of generating billions of dollars and commanding audiences around the world.
Crossing $2 billion is a milestone achieved by only a handful of films in cinematic history â and Spider-Man: Brand New Day has managed to enter that exclusive club in just three weekends.
At this point, the question isn’t whether Spider-Man has another blockbuster on his hands.
It’s just how high Brand New Day can ultimately swing.
