Safaree Pleads For Child Support Payments To Erica Mena Be Lowered

She recently addressed Safaree’s antics at her ‘Pink Friday 2’ Gag City show going down because his bag was running low and needed to pull a publicity stunt. Safaree Samuels has requested a judge to reduce his child support payments to his ex-wife, Erica Mena, according to exclusive reports from In Touch.

According to InTouch, Court documents reveal that Safaree, 43, filed a petition in a Georgia court in June 2023, stating they had a divorce settlement in 2022 that addressed custody, child support, and property division. Under the agreement, they share custody of their two children, with Safaree responsible for $4,305 monthly in child support.

In his petition, Safaree noted that the child support amount was based on his monthly income of $61,157 and Erica’s income of $41,289. He claims there have been significant changes in their financial situations and custodial arrangements since the order was established.

Safaree’s attorney stated that he now has more parenting time than the originally agreed-upon 12 days and is physically caring for the children for 3-4 weeks at a time. Safaree also mentioned that he no longer earns the same income and is not currently a full-time cast member of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, impacting his ability to secure bookings.

He alleged a “significant loss of income” due to Erica’s public criticism of him on social media, which he claims has harmed his reputation and ability to book appearances. Safaree also pointed out that Erica’s income has increased since their divorce and is seeking a reduction in child support along with compensation for his legal fees. The case has seen no developments since June 2023.

Previously, Erica criticized Safaree for referencing his breakup with Nicki Minaj as his “biggest struggle,” claiming he doesn’t prioritize their children. After less than two years of marriage, she filed for divorce while pregnant with their second child and initially sought primary custody but later agreed to joint custody. Their separation turned contentious, with allegations of property damage from both sides. They ultimately reached a settlement in 2022.
