RHOA’s Shamea Morton SUES Atlanta Doctor After Chemical Peel Goes Wrong — Says She Was ‘Burned, Blistered & Left With Permanent Scars’ 😳🔥

Real Housewives of Atlanta star Shamea Morton is taking legal action after a beauty treatment allegedly turned into a painful medical nightmare. According to a newly filed lawsuit, Shamea claims an Atlanta doctor “negligently burned” her during a chemical peel — leaving her with second-degree burns and permanent scarring, Us Weekly reports.

On October 31, Shamea and her husband Gerald Mwangi filed a medical malpractice lawsuit against Dr. Jing Jing Wong Harris, her company Pretty Faces Atlanta, and several additional defendants.

The suit alleges that Shamea received a chemical peel on March 13, 2024, despite having Tinea Versicolor, a fungal skin condition that should have disqualified her from getting the treatment. According to the complaint, she should’ve been referred to a dermatologist — not given a peel.

Shamea also claims the peel itself was far too strong for her skin type, noting that aggressive treatments on melanated skin require careful prep and expert guidance. The lawsuit says she received two passes of the peel with no pigment-correcting prep, calling the process “completely inappropriate.”

To make matters worse, the suit alleges that a third-party worker — not Dr. Harris — performed the peel without supervision, leading to blistering, intense pain, and permanent scars on Shamea’s back and arms.

According to the filing, Shamea cried and screamed in pain during the procedure. The lawsuit claims Dr. Harris didn’t even check in until she heard the screams — and when Shamea explained how much pain she was in, Harris allegedly told her she was “being dramatic.”

Only after seeing tears on Shamea’s face, the lawsuit claims, did the doctor apply an unknown spray solution to her back.

The suit further alleges Harris never evaluated the treatment plan before the peel was done.

Shamea is seeking unspecified damages, with her attorney calling the incident “unacceptable and inexcusable.”

Shamea has been part of The Real Housewives of Atlanta since Season 5, climbing from guest to friend to full-time Housewife by Season 16. Her most recent storyline centered around tension with longtime friend Porsha Williams, followed by Shamea posting a lengthy YouTube apology to the cast.

Looking ahead, Shamea says Season 17 gets even messier than fans expect.
