After leaving fans stressed OUT following that wild Season 4 finale cliffhanger, Power Book III: Raising Kanan has finally answered the question everybody’s been asking…

Did Kanan kill his mother Raq?

The answer is NOPE — because Raq Thomas is officially BACK for the fifth and final season of the hit Starz series.

The newly released trailer for Season 5 confirms Patina Miller’s fan-favorite character survived, but things between her and Kanan Stark are looking more dangerous than ever.

Right from the start of the trailer, Mekai Curtis’ Kanan sets the tone with a chilling voiceover:

“If you didn’t hate me before, you’re gonna hate me now.”

Yeah… it’s giving full villain mode.

The trailer teases a darker and more ruthless Kanan as he continues building his empire alongside Breeze, played by Shameik Moore. Fans also get another look at Breeze’s powerful family connections with Snaps and Pop entering deeper into the mix.

But even though Raq survived, she’s clearly got enemies everywhere — including her own son.

At one point in the trailer, Raq warns Kanan:

“You ain’t never have an enemy like me, Kanan.”

And Kanan fires right back:

“I’ve had you as an enemy my whole life.”

WHEW.

The tension between mother and son looks ready to explode as alliances shift, betrayals stack up, and bodies are almost guaranteed to drop before the series wraps up.

The trailer also hints at dangerous conversations involving crime boss Stefano Marchetti, played by Tony Danza, with many fans believing Raq may now have a target on her back from multiple sides.

With Raising Kanan heading into its final season, viewers are already trying to figure out who survives and who gets taken out before the story transitions into Power: Origins.

One thing fans already know? Kanan survives long enough to become the ruthless version portrayed by 50 Cent in the original Power series.

Starz confirmed that Mekai Curtis will reprise his role in Power: Origins, alongside younger versions of Ghost and Tommy.

Season 5 of Power Book III: Raising Kanan premieres Friday, June 12 on Starz.
