⚖️ Ozempic & Zepbound Makers Reportedly Faces $2 Billion In Potential Lawsuits—Over 2000 Patients Claim Life-Threatening Side Effects

The legal heat is turning up on two of the most popular weight-loss and diabetes drugs in America—Ozempic and Zepbound.

More than 2,000 lawsuits have been filed against their makers, Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly, with patients alleging the medications caused serious, even life-threatening side effects.

The cases have been consolidated into MDL No. 3094, now unfolding in federal court in Pennsylvania. As of August 2025, legal trackers confirm over 2,000 active claims, and the discovery phase is underway.

At the center of the lawsuits are allegations that patients developed gastroparesis (stomach paralysis), along with other dangerous conditions like intestinal obstruction, ileus, chronic vomiting, gallbladder disease, and even vision loss.

The FDA has already updated warning labels—most recently for Zepbound in 2025, adding ileus to its list of risks. Despite that, both companies are denying wrongdoing, arguing that their labels meet federal standards and that risks are clearly outlined.

The outcome of this battle could have major consequences for Big Pharma and the millions of patients currently taking the drugs for diabetes or weight loss.
