Oscar-winning actress and comedian Mo’Nique is revisiting an old Hollywood disagreement — this time through a public open letter addressed to Whoopi Goldberg.

In the letter, Mo’Nique reflected on their past on-air conversation where Goldberg questioned some of the career decisions Mo’Nique made during her dispute with filmmakers and industry executives.

Mo’Nique asked Goldberg whether her perspective has changed over the years, noting that more people today seem to support her stance about not working for individuals she believed she had no contractual obligation to.

The comedian also brought up Goldberg’s past legal dispute related to the film Theodore Rex, saying the situation left her confused about why Goldberg criticized her position regarding her own contractual disagreements with director Lee Daniels.

Mo’Nique has long maintained that she was unfairly labeled as “difficult to work with” during her fallout with Daniels and other Hollywood figures after the success of the film Precious, which earned her an Academy Award.

In the letter, Mo’Nique also mentioned media mogul Tyler Perry, claiming that he privately admitted to her that he was wrong for describing her as difficult to work with. However, she says that admission was never made publicly.

According to Mo’Nique, that lack of a public correction has continued to impact how some people in the industry view her.

She concluded the open letter by asking Goldberg directly if she would reconsider her earlier stance now that more time has passed and more details about the situation have surfaced.

The letter has sparked conversation online, with fans debating Mo’Nique’s long-running dispute with several powerful figures in Hollywood and whether the industry ever treated her fairly after her Oscar-winning moment.
