Kelsey Harris’s Bodyguard Alleges She Shot at Megan Thee Stallion in New Statement

In a surprising development, the nonprofit legal advocacy group Unite The People held a press conference suggesting that Kelsey Harris—not Tory Lanez—was the one who shot rapper Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. Walter Roberts, lead legal consultant for UTP, presented new claims that could cast doubt on the conviction that sent Lanez to prison for 10 years.

Roberts stated that Harris, Megan’s former best friend and a key witness in the trial, was allegedly heard admitting to being the shooter. The claim reportedly comes from Bradley James, a bodyguard who drove Harris during the trial. According to James, Harris confessed in a conversation he overheard, saying: “She had the gun, she fired it three times. [Lanez] grabbed her arm and knocked it down, and the gun fired two more times. In essence, Mr. Peterson never shot anybody. He never even touched that weapon.”

Roberts also pointed to testimony from Sean Kelly, the case’s only neutral eyewitness. During the trial, Kelly said he saw two women fighting before two men intervened. He claimed he saw one of the men—presumably Lanez—grab a woman’s arm, followed by multiple gunshots from the direction of the car’s passenger seat, where Harris was reportedly sitting.

Despite these claims, Lanez (born Daystar Peterson) was convicted of assault with a firearm, illegal possession of a firearm, and negligent discharge of a gun. He is currently serving a 10-year sentence.

The press conference has reignited public debate over the high-profile case, with Lanez’s supporters citing the statements as potential grounds for appeal. Legal experts, however, note that unless new evidence is formally introduced in court, the conviction stands.
