HAYDEN PANETTIERE DEAD AT 36, ‘HEROES’ & ‘NASHVILLE’ STAR’S DEATH UNDER INVESTIGATION

Hollywood is mourning the loss of Hayden Panettiere, the actress best known for her roles in Heroes, Nashville, Remember the Titans and the Scream franchise. She was just 36 years old. Her family confirmed her death through a statement shared by her representative. 

Panettiere reportedly died Sunday, August 16. Law enforcement sources confirmed that police responded to an incident involving the actress Sunday and that an investigation is currently open. A cause of death has not been announced. 

Her family described Hayden as “an incredible light” who brought love and joy to those around her and to millions of fans who watched her on screen. They have asked for privacy as they grieve. 

Hayden began working as a child actress and appeared in projects including Remember the Titans, where she starred alongside Denzel Washington.

She became a household name after landing the role of Claire Bennet on NBC’s Heroes. The series turned her into one of television’s biggest young stars and earned her multiple Teen Choice Awards. 

She later took on the role of Juliette Barnes on Nashville, showcasing both her acting and singing talents. Her performance earned her two Golden Globe nominations. 

Panettiere also appeared in Scream 4 and Scream VI, along with other films and television projects. She also lent her voice to video games, including Until Dawn. 

In recent years, Panettiere became increasingly open about her personal struggles, including addiction, depression and the challenges she experienced following the birth of her daughter, Kaya.

Earlier this year, she released her memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, in which she reflected on her childhood fame, motherhood, recovery and the devastating loss of her younger brother, actor Jansen Panettiere, who died in 2023 at age 28. 

Hayden shared daughter Kaya with former fiancé and professional boxer Wladimir Klitschko. 

Her death comes just days before what would have been her 37th birthday on August 21.

As fans remember her work and the characters that made her a star, questions surrounding her sudden death remain unanswered.
