The tension between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj just hit another level. The rap rivals, who have been trading subliminal shots for years, went head-to-head on X (formerly Twitter) Monday night (Sept. 29), with both women unloading vicious bars and personal digs.

It all started when Nicki, 42, threw shade about Cardi’s new album Am I the Drama?, which dropped last week and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 while going double platinum in its first week.

“Never provoke a writer while they’re ✍🏾,” Nicki tweeted while promoting her own upcoming album set for March 27, 2026. She followed up with a jab at Cardi’s promotional price: “$4.99.”

From there, Nicki unleashed a stream of mocking posts, twisting Cardi’s lyrics from “Magnet” into parody raps:

She even nicknamed Cardi “Barney Dangerous” in a nod to her pregnancy and wardrobe choices.

But Bardi wasn’t about to let that slide. Cardi, 32, fired back by calling Nicki “Cocaine Barbie” and flipping her own “Magnet” bars against her:

Cardi also clapped back at the sales shade:

Things got even messier when Nicki mentioned Cardi’s pregnancy, her fourth child and first with NFL star Stefon Diggs. Cardi retaliated by dragging Nicki’s past fertility struggles:

“Like you wasn’t going to different fertility doctors cuz you couldn’t reproduce from all them percs scrambling your eggs. NOT ALLEGEDLY … Lord protect my babies.”

Meanwhile, social media couldn’t resist grabbing popcorn. Ice Spice chimed in with a shady “tee-hee” emoji, while JT from City Girls went all-in, calling Cardi a “dirty non-talented rat” and clowning her $4.99 album as “hot dog” prices.

Cardi fired back at JT in a fiery verse from “Magnet”:

“Fake friend-ass bitch (Huh) / Clown-ass bitch (Shh) / Your loyalty depends who you around-ass bitch / Backdoor ho, hatin’ on the low-ass bitch.”

The timeline has since exploded with memes of Barney in heels and Nicki in pink wigs, showing that neither side is backing down anytime soon.

What started as album promo quickly spiraled into one of the ugliest Twitter wars in hip-hop’s long list of feuds — and fans are eating it up.
