Anthony Steverson is a well-known celebrity photographer, famous for capturing candid and intimate moments of celebrities. Over the years, Anthony has worked with numerous high-profile clients, including the Brooklyn Nets and Hot 97 Summer Jam. His dedication to his craft has earned them a well-deserved reputation. His talent has single-handily been defined as one of the most talented and respected photographers in the entertainment industry.
How did you get started in your career? I commenced my career by doing graphic design in college. That is where my passion for visual arts, networking, and being in the industry developed. I was doing work for rappers, lounges in Manhattan, flyers, etc. I started on my smartphone. I obtained my first camera in 2017. People assumed I was a photographer because my work on my smartphone was so prolific. When I purchased my first entry-level camera I reached out to friends that were models and dancers and shot them for free. I reached out to individuals with larger followers and influencers. That’s when everything started taking off.
I connected with influencer Trevor Bell and we collaborated on a spider man photo shoot. The photo shoot made it to the “Asbury Park Boardwalk” newspaper. That was the first press I obtained as a creative. In 2019, I started shooting the Brooklyn Nets dancers. I obtained the opportunity by networking with a college friend, Amanda Robinson who was their previous dance caption. She aligned the opportunity. Criscia Long, the director of entertainment of the Brooklyn Nets, connected me with Troy Press the talent and entertainment who then had me shoot Young M.A for her halftime performance. That’s how I commenced working as the photog for half-time performers. I was working a 9-5 and was fully committed to building and homing in on my craft.
What is your moment where you realized “you made it”? My “I made it” moment is that I haven’t made it. There’s always something to do greater. Complacency can be a downfall. Being comfortable isn’t beneficial, I haven’t made it I’m growing and learning daily.
What are some celebrities you’ve shot with? Nick the Weatherman, Montana Tucker, Young M.A, Myles Frost, Hot 97 Sumer Jam, and Troy Press, among others.
Who is your favorite celebrity you’ve worked for? My favorite is all of them, lol.
What are the biggest influences in your career? The biggest influences in my career are my mother, my dad, and myself. Without my parents, I wouldn’t be who I am today, Mysef because I’m always challenging myself to obtain more.
Where can we keep up with you? You can keep up with me on all social handles @Asteverson on all platforms.
