Anthony Edwards Accuses Ayesha Howard of “Planned-Out Scheme” to Get Pregnant, Asks Judge to Sanction Her

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is firing back at his ex, Ayesha Howard, in an escalating legal battle over child support jurisdiction. On Tuesday, May 6, the 23-year-old athlete filed a response in court, asking a judge to sanction Ayesha, 37, for what he called “manipulative and unjustifiable conduct.”

The filing comes after Ayesha petitioned the court to reconsider a recent decision that ruled California did not have jurisdiction to set child support in their case. Edwards’ legal team maintains that he has no legal or personal ties to California and emphasized that the court had already determined he did not engage in sexual intercourse with Ayesha in the state.

“Ayesha has failed to provide any evidence demonstrating that she pays utilities in California, rents a home in California, has signed a lease in California or had any connection to California,” Edwards’ attorney wrote. He further alleged that her attempt to litigate in California was “a bad faith effort to game the system and mislead the Court.”

The NBA player’s filing included sharp criticism of Ayesha’s decision to submit an ovulation tracker as evidence—claiming it “suggests a calculated plan to conceive a child with Anthony” and supports the notion that the pregnancy was “a clearly planned financial decision.”

Edwards’ attorney called Ayesha’s motion “a second bite at the apple” and accused her of repackaging arguments that had already been rejected. The filing urges the judge to impose sanctions against Ayesha for her conduct, though no ruling has been made yet.
