Judge Rules Chris Brown’s Former Housekeeper Can Collect From Royalties & Tour Income

A Los Angeles judge has reportedly ruled that Maria Avila, Chris Brown’s former housekeeper, has the right to collect money from the singer’s royalties and tour income to satisfy the $13 million judgment she won following a dog attack lawsuit.

According to court documents, the judge granted Avila’s request to assign money Brown receives from his royalties and touring revenue toward the judgment.

Brown reportedly objected to the request, but the judge was not persuaded.

The ruling could put a portion of the money Brown is generating from his highly successful nationwide tour with Usher within reach of Avila as she attempts to collect the judgment.

It’s currently unclear whether Brown will ask the court to reconsider the decision or pursue an appeal.

The legal battle stems from a 2020 dog attack at Brown’s Los Angeles home involving Avila.

Brown denied wrongdoing in connection with the allegations, but a jury ultimately found him liable and awarded Avila the multimillion-dollar judgment.

Now, with Brown bringing in significant revenue from touring and music royalties, Avila has secured a ruling that could give her access to those income streams as she seeks to collect what she’s owed.
