Dwight Howard Drops Restraining Order Against Wife Amber Howard as Messy Divorce Continues

It looks like things may be cooling down a bit between Dwight Howard and his estranged wife, Amber Howard.

According to Howard’s attorney, the former NBA star has officially dropped the restraining order he recently filed against Amber as both sides work toward a more peaceful separation.

Howard’s lawyer explained that removing the protective order is often a common first step during divorce proceedings and could help move the split toward a more amicable resolution.

Last week, Dwight Howard was granted a restraining order after accusing Amber of threatening him during an incident at his Georgia home. In court filings, he alleged she came to the house on April 5 and at one point threatened him with a weapon.

The order originally barred Amber from coming near Dwight’s home, his children’s school, or contacting family members through phone calls or social media.

However, Amber Howard strongly denied the accusations, calling the restraining order false and claiming Dwight was retaliating against her after she refused to lie to police regarding a separate family matter involving Child Protective Services.

The divorce between the two has been filled with public accusations on both sides. Dwight previously filed for divorce after Amber claimed his daughter had been removed by CPS, and the former basketball star has also denied allegations involving drug use.

In recent weeks, body cam footage from police visits to Dwight’s home also surfaced, showing officers responding to disputes between the couple.

For now, Howard’s team says he is asking for peace and privacy as he focuses on his family and works through the divorce process.
