Angel Reese Heads to the A! Atlanta Dream Pull Off Blockbuster Trade with Chicago Sky

It’s a major shake-up in the WNBA, and the city of Atlanta just got a whole lot stronger.

The Atlanta Dream made a power move Monday, acquiring two-time All-Star forward Angel Reese in a blockbuster deal with the Chicago Sky.

In exchange, Chicago is stacking up for the future — landing first-round picks in 2027 and 2028, plus second-round pick swap rights in 2028 as they officially enter rebuild mode.

For Reese, this marks a fresh chapter after a rocky ending in Chicago. The 23-year-old LSU standout kept it classy in her first statement, saying she’s “beyond grateful” for the opportunity and ready to give everything to her new squad.

And make no mistake — Atlanta just added a certified problem.

Reese has been dominating the paint since entering the league, leading the WNBA in rebounds last season with a staggering 12.6 boards per game. She also posted a league-high 23 double-doubles while averaging 14.7 points and 3.7 assists — proving she’s more than just a rebound machine.

Now she joins a loaded Dream roster featuring All-Star guard Rhyne Howard and elite scorer Allisha Gray, who finished top 5 in MVP voting last season. After finishing 30-14 and falling short in the playoffs against the Indiana Fever, Atlanta clearly isn’t playing around this year.

Meanwhile, Chicago is hitting reset — thanking Reese for her contributions while focusing on building through draft assets.

With Reese bringing toughness, rebounding dominance, and star power to the A, this move could seriously shift the balance in the Eastern Conference.

One thing’s for sure — Atlanta just got dangerous.
