Donald Trump Calls Diddy “Half-Innocent,” But Says Past Disrespect Makes Pardoning Him Difficult

Donald Trump is talking wild again — this time about his former party buddy Sean “Diddy” Combs. Even though Diddy just caught a federal conviction in July, Trump says he sees the Bad Boy mogul as “sort of half-innocent.”
Sitting down with Newsmax Friday night, Trump didn’t shy away from giving his take on Diddy’s legal mess. “He was essentially, I guess, sort of half-innocent,” Trump told host Rob Finnerty. “He was celebrating a victory, but I guess it wasn’t as good of a victory.”
Diddy was found guilty on two counts of transporting people to engage in prostitution — each carrying up to 10 years behind bars — but dodged the heavier sex-trafficking and racketeering charges. Now he’s set for sentencing on October 3rd and hoping for a $50M bond so he can breathe free air before then.
But here’s the twist — rumors say Trump’s been toying with the idea of hitting Diddy with a pardon. The two have history: public party appearances, friendly vibes, and a little rich-man camaraderie. Plus, Trump has a habit of pardoning his allies as a big “middle finger” to a justice system he says is corrupt — the same system that convicted him just months before his 2024 re-election.
Still, Trump admits Diddy might’ve fumbled his own pardon chances when he came for The Donald in years past. In 2017, Diddy told the Daily Beast he didn’t “really give a f*** about Trump.” Then in 2020, after Trump’s loss to Biden, Diddy doubled down, telling Charlamagne tha God, “White men like Trump need to be banished. The number one priority is to get Trump out of office.”
Trump clearly hasn’t forgotten. “When I ran for office, he was very hostile,” he said Friday. “It’s hard, you know? We’re human beings… and we don’t like to have things cloud our judgment. But… he made some terrible statements. So I don’t know. It makes it more difficult to do.”
For now, Diddy’s stuck waiting to see if Trump puts feelings over friendship — or friendship over feelings. Either way, that “half-innocent” line is gonna stick.
