Detroit Rapper Skilla Baby Hospitalized After Drive-By Shooting Near 8 Mile

Detroit rapper Trevon Gardner, known professionally as Skilla Baby, was injured in a drive-by shooting near 8 Mile and Beech Daly, according to multiple sources speaking with FOX 2 News.

The shooting occurred when a black SUV—believed to be carrying the rapper—was targeted and hit with a barrage of bullets. The vehicle eventually crashed into a building off the road, prompting a rapid emergency response. When authorities arrived at the scene, they found evidence markers scattered across 8 Mile, with bullet casings blanketing the area.

Skilla Baby reportedly sustained multiple injuries, including two grazes to the head and back, and a gunshot wound to the hand. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he remains alert and is expected to recover.

As of Thursday night, Redford police continue to investigate the incident. No suspects have been identified, and no arrests have been made.
