Wendy Williams Reveals Emotional Struggles Over Son Kevin Hunter Jr.’s Role in Her Guardianship

Wendy Williams opened up about the controversial court-ordered guardianship she was placed under, revealing how her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., played a central role in the financial turmoil that led to the decision. In the Tubi documentary TMZ Presents: Saving Wendy, released on February 12, the former talk show host became emotional as she discussed the painful situation, stating:

“My son overstepped his boundaries… He was inappropriately using my money without telling me crap about it. Like, is he stealing from me?”

Wendy implied that Kevin Jr.‘s actions ultimately led to her financial accounts being frozen by Wells Fargo, which was a key factor in her being placed under the restrictive guardianship. “All I know is that’s when my money got frozen. And thank God, no more money stealing from my son and the other people,” she said.

The documentary revealed that in 2022, while staying with Kevin Jr. in Miami, Wendy was cut off from her finances because her son had control of her phone, making it impossible for her to respond to critical fraud alerts from Wells Fargo. She also disclosed that over $100,000 was spent on her American Express card, including a lavish $113,000 yacht rental for Kevin Jr.’s 21st birthday.

In a shocking revelation, Wendy alleged that a woman, whom Kevin Jr. allegedly introduced her to, impersonated her in an attempt to steal more money. The woman reportedly posed as Wendy over the phone, trying to access her funds, but fortunately, Wells Fargo flagged the fraud attempt before further damage could be done.

While Wendy had previously defended her son, her tone shifted dramatically in the documentary as she tearfully confessed: “My son is a good person, but at this point, he is a horrible person to me.”
