Wayans Brothers Reunite For New ‘Scary Movie’

The Scary Movie reboot announced at CinemaCon has finally come to fruition, with the franchise’s creators reuniting for the first time in 18 years to craft a new original screenplay. The earlier films parodied slasher hits like Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer. The new Scary Movie is set to begin filming next year for a theatrical release, with the Wayans and Rick Alvarez writing and producing.
The Scary Movie franchise was created by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Keenen Ivory Wayans. Keenen directed and wrote the first two films, while Marlon and Shawn contributed as writers and stars in those installments.
