Janet Jackson is addressing a misunderstanding surrounding comments she allegedly made about Vice President Kamala Harris. During a recent interview, Jackson’s remarks that she “heard Kamala Harris isn’t Black” caused a stir online, sparking debate over identity and race. In response to the backlash, the legendary pop icon quickly clarified her position, explaining that her statement was taken out of context.
Jackson issued a formal apology, emphasizing that she did not mean to question Harris’ racial identity and expressed respect for the Vice President’s achievements. The singer also reiterated her support for women of color in leadership positions, hoping to put the controversy behind her.
“She deeply respects Vice President Kamala Harris and her accomplishments as a Black and Indian woman. Janet apologizes for any confusion caused and acknowledges the importance of accurate representation in public discourse,” Elmasri told
