Whitney Houston’s Iconic Wardrobe, Platinum Awards & Personal Memorabilia Head to Auction for Charity

Whitney Houston fans are about to get the opportunity of a lifetime as some of the late superstar’s most iconic personal belongings are officially going up for auction.

The Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation has partnered with Julien’s Auctions for a special sale featuring rare items from Houston’s personal archives, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the foundation’s charitable efforts.

The auction, set for August 11, will offer collectors a chance to own unforgettable pieces from Whitney’s legendary career, including the mini dress she wore to the 1988 American Music Awards, her striking red Versace leather outfit from the 1999 VH1 Divas concert, and tour-worn fashions from Burberry and Dolce & Gabbana.

Other standout pieces include an MCM luggage set, a Bob Mackie jacket, a Richard Avedon portrait that once hung in Whitney’s office, and her 9x Platinum award for “I Wanna Dance with Somebody.”

Julien’s Auctions co-founder Martin Nolan described the collection as more than just memorabilia.

“This is a powerful celebration of Whitney’s extraordinary life, artistry, and lasting impact,” Nolan said. “Each item tells a story.”

Pat Houston, president of the Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation and executor of Whitney’s estate, expressed excitement about continuing the partnership with Julien’s Auctions after the success of last year’s event.

She revealed this year’s collection features several one-of-a-kind pieces that have never been made available before.

Fans attending the foundation’s Legacy of Love Gala on August 8—one day before what would have been Whitney Houston’s 63rd birthday—will get an exclusive preview of select items before they officially hit the auction block.

For fans and collectors alike, the auction offers a rare chance to own a piece of one of music’s greatest voices while supporting the preservation of her legacy.
